This amazing sideboard cabinet (via Yanko Design) sports a beautiful full moon across most of its surface, which glows in the dark. Even uses eco-friendly paint!

Mars Pathfinder stamp

This is the very first space-related stamp I remember actually buying, just after I got out of high school. The lovely coppery finish doesn’t show on the scan, but it’s a bit metallic ’round the edges.

Stoney Creek Book #226: The Final Frontier

I bought this cross-stitch book in 2000 (and, as with most side hobbies, stopped in the middle of a project.) How often do you run into space-themed needlework? Not that often, I dare say. Fun layouts (if a little inaccurate), metallic thread and lots of detail! I do intend to make a few of these yet; especially since the chart of the planets still includes Pluto!

LEGO Model of 2001’s Discovery

Monday, March 17th, 2008

This is one of the most fantastic LEGO models I’ve seen. The Discovery is featured in the films 2001: A Space Odyssey and 2010: The Year We Make Contact, and this model is rendered in meticulous LEGO detail. A real visual treat!
