Astronaut detail, Ieronimus Cathedral

Inside the splendid Ieronimus Cathedral, built by Episcope de Salamanca in 1102 A.D., among the fascinating carvings of mythical animals and saints, we find… NASA Astronaut. Maybe they entered some time portal while on the Moon, and ended up scaring medieval builders in Spain? Probably just a modern addition by the mischievous restoration team.

Pixels: Astroplushnaut

Astroplushnaut by Etherbrian

Truly, one of the most creative (and delightfully strange) people I’ve met online is the highly-talented Etherbrian. (ooh! Look at him blush!) Brian has a way with pixels that is amazingly unique, retro, futuristic at times — he puts the “art” in “digital art”, to be sure. Then again, he’s been pushing pixels for quite a long time!

Astroplushnaut is something he posted yesterday, and I’m delighted to showcase it here with his permission. Check out his blog and his newest work @ IconBuffet. (And remember kids, if you want any of the IconBuffet Free Deliveries, click here and sign up!)

Hubble Holiday Cards are back (see last year’s post), with three new designs at the top. Image above is my favorite of the three.

Okay, so I’m a Martha Stewart disciple. So what? I think these outdoor shooting stars are nothing short of brilliant. (I can picture where I’d put them in our yard, too. Hmm.)
